The Center for Development of Skopje Planning Region within the project “Innovative solutions for better access to services at the local level” of the Ministry of Local Self-Government, implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) on December 7, 2017. in the premises of h.Continental organized a presentation of the draft version of the “Register of Potentials for Rural Tourism in the Skopje Region”. The event was attended by representatives from the municipalities and the business sector.
The purpose of the event was to present data from the research of potentials as an evident list for a local tourist offer in the Skopje region.
Welcoming the attendees, the event was opened by the Head of the Skopje Planning Region, Ms. Roseta Arsovska, emphasizing the purpose and significance of the project as an opportunity to identify potentials that are particularly important for rural tourism in the Skopje planning region. The presentation by prof. Dr. Naum Marinoski emphasized that the attractors are key in the offer of the planning region within the project. During the presentation of the Register of Potentials for Rural Tourism in the Skopje Planning Region, the professor expressed his gratitude to the municipalities and their cooperation, where all the additions and data that were discussed at the first workshop and which were additionally submitted were included in the draft version. The data refer to several areas: environment, population, economic activity, production and services, access, transport and travel, culture, cultural activities, sport and recreation, accommodation and restaurants, attendance of tourists and tourist consumption as well as competition in surroundings. The event developed a fruitful discussion with brief updates of the draft version by the participants.
Finally, prof. Dr. Naum Marinoski thanked the participants for their participation and cooperation in the preparation of the “Register of Potentials for Rural Tourism in the Skopje Region”.
