Today V.D. the director of the Center for Development of the Skopje Planning Region, Mrs. Rozeta Arsovska, together with the Minister of Local Self-Government, Mr. Risto Penov, solemnly signed an Agreement for the realization of an investment project with a digital component from the Grant scheme of the project “Sustainable and inclusive balanced regional development” – II phase which is supported by the Ministry of Local Self-Government and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
It is about the project “The Story Continues”, which will be implemented in the municipality of Gjorce Petrov, and will benefit the entire Skopje region and beyond. This project aims to improve the quality of life of school-age children in Macedonia and the region who have survived cancer through sustainable investments in infrastructure and in conditions for care and rehabilitation, which are the only systemic prerequisite for improving the quality of life of this socially excluded population. category. The center was created as a place where every child who needs rehabilitation after fighting cancer will be provided with care, professionalism and education. The Center will house children with one parent who will be part of the rehabilitation period. It is crucial that families facing such a problem are provided with tools and information that will enable them to keep their children active and interested. The center will take the initiative to increase family awareness of the importance of exercise during recovery.
The total value of the project is 23,574,074.00 denars, of which 8,435,000.00 denars are provided by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, 10,380,998.00 denars are provided by the Ministry of Local Self-Government and 4,758. 076.00 are provided by the Municipality of Gjorce Petrov.
The activities for this project are scheduled to start in 2023.
