The Center for Development of the Skopje Planning Region in cooperation with the Association “Go Green”, presented the final activities of the project “Eco Innovative Zones for Cleaner Air”, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation and the Ministry of Local Self-Government of RS Macedonia, within the project “Sustainable inclusive balanced regional development”. The meeting was attended by the Head of the Center for Development of the Skopje Planning Region, Ljupчоo Kec Mickovski, together with the Ambassador of Switzerland to our country, HE Mrs. Sibil Suter Tejada, the Minister of Local Self-Government of RS Macedonia, Goran Milevski and Gorjan Nacevski from the Association “Go Green”. All stakeholders in the project expressed great satisfaction with the implementation of this project, which will contribute to cleaner air and electricity savings, and will also encourage environmental behavior among citizens, especially young people. The head of the Center for Development Skopje Planning Region, Ljupco Kec Mickovski, said that this project was voted in a participatory manner with the participation of representatives of the civil society, municipalities, business sector and educational institutions. He thanked the Association “Go Green”, as well as the partner municipalities in the project: the City of Skopje, the Municipality of Centar and the Municipality of Kisela Voda.
The citizens of the City of Skopje and all visitors already have the opportunity to use the 5 smart benches in the three municipalities at the following locations:
- Str. Naum Naumovski Borce in Centar Municipality,
- ZOO – Skopje and
- Shopen park in Kisela Voda Municipality.
